Hatchet is a durable, queue-backed workflow engine for modern workers (TypeScript/Go/Python) with retries, concurrency controls, and observability. It targets the same problem class as Temporal/Inngest: don’t lose multi-step work when a process dies. In this catalog, Hatchet is treated as a first-class stack choice: read the primary sources and evidence table before wiring it into a corridor, and prefer measured fit over fashion when peers cover the same job.
In this catalog it is the Workflow Orchestration option when you need to run durable multi-step jobs with retries and state. Keep Hatchet on the observe/propose side of the loop: useful signals and drafts, with human or policy authority still required before anything irreversible runs.
Workflows are coded or declared; the engine persists state, retries activities, and wakes on signals/timers until completion.
