What it is

APIs, SDKs & MCP extensibility is the composability layer: stable external APIs, client SDKs, MCP consume/serve, custom tools, and embed paths so the product is not a sealed SaaS island.

Read-only status APIs or “Zapier soon” are partial; shipping MCP/API that others build on is full.

Why it matters

Platform repo / simulator / portals must drive the OS via HTTP people already use — never reach inside. Extensibility is that contract.
