Agno (evolved from the Phidata line) is a Python framework for building production-oriented agents with built-in patterns for tools, memory, and knowledge. It aims for fast construction of capable workers without forcing a heavyweight graph runtime on every task. Use it in the “define the worker” layer of an agentic OS: roles, tools, and RAG attachments that emit structured results into a ledger. For Agno, treat autonomy claims as contingent on tool reliability, memory, and human gates; measure loop cost and recovery before promoting it from demo to production path.
