LangChain is the widely adopted framework for composing LLM calls, tools, retrievers, memory, and callbacks into applications and agents, with a huge integration ecosystem. It is often the glue inside a worker process. It is not an operating system. Production agentic installs typically pair LangChain-shaped workers with LangGraph (or Temporal/Inngest) for durability and with an external truth ledger for cases and approvals.
